Board of Health approves installer permit, discusses Transfer Station pricing

Board of Health · Meeting of March 11, 2026

Northfield Board of Health approves installer permit, holds dump sticker price steady. David Balk chairs the March 11 session with four members present; Ruth Potee motioned approval of an installer permit (Kathryn Bridges abstaining in a 3-0-1 vote), and Recycling Coordinator Bob McEwen presented on Transfer Station operations. Dump sticker pricing remains at $20 and trash bags at $.75 each or $1.50 per package; the town currently clears $1.03 per bag in revenue after costs.

The board declined to increase prices at this time and also discussed opioid settlement funding, with Northfield participating in a 16-town coalition through the Franklin Regional Council of Governments.
