Board of Health hires Charlie Kaniecki as Health Agent
Board of Health · Meeting of April 22, 2026
Northfield Board of Health appoints Charlie Kaniecki as health agent. The board unanimously approved Kaniecki's hire as a Special Town Employee working per diem to address long-standing housing complaints, with Chair David Balk naming a Strowbridge Road property as the immediate priority. Residents John Leary and Brian Smith had raised concerns about vehicle counts and occupancy levels in campers and homes on the property.
The board also discussed repairs needed at a Mt Hermon Station Road property, where recent water tests showed elevated manganese levels deemed safe to drink, and where Lifepath is addressing surface mold and ceiling damage. In other business, the board unanimously approved four permit applications and accepted a Title V inspection report.
