Board seeks new health inspector after agent's death

Northfield Board of Health moves to fill inspector vacancy after David Gillis's death. The Board is arranging interim per diem inspections through Charles Kanecki while the Eastern Franklin County Health District searches for a permanent Health Agent serving Northfield, Shutesbury, and Erving. Board Chair David Balk said the three-town partnership must quickly formalize the temporary arrangement.
The Board identified two housing properties as investigative priorities: Mt Hermon Station Road, with elevated manganese documented in its water supply, and Strowbridge Road, with complaints of year-round camper occupancy and property damage.
