NORTHFIELD — The Emergency Services Building Committee selected PMA as the first-choice Owner Project Manager for a new emergency services facility. Voting 4-2, the committee also backed CMS as second choice, with Town Administrator Andrea Llamas reporting that one reference would not hire CMS again because of the firm's handling of a large fraudulent financial transaction stemming from an email breach. The Emergency Services Facility account holds just over $2.1 million in available funds, with another $630,000 available in the Capital Stabilization fund pending Town Meeting approval.

Committee members expressed concerns about CMS's preparedness and its assignment of a newly hired project manager, while Chair Floyd "Skip" Dunnell III recommended completing a wetlands delineation first.
