NORTHFIELD — Conservation Commission submits FERC letter regarding dam safety and flags landfill monitoring gap. Commissioner Victoria Luksha submitted correspondence to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission addressing safety concerns from a FERC Dam Safety Inspection Report. The board noted that annual monitoring reports for the town's old landfill have not been available since 2023 and assigned member Sarah Kerns to obtain the property's Order of Conditions.
The commission raised wetlands proximity concerns about a proposed emergency medical services building.
