NORTHFIELD — Energy Committee targets fall grant cycle after spring setback. Judith Wagner and Jim Van Natta, co-chairs, and member Spirit Joseph noted an expeditor's delayed response cost the committee a submission opportunity in the current Green Communities grant round; the committee is now aiming for fall and exploring Eversource funding for a comprehensive building assessment. On solar development, after ruling out the highway station building and the transfer station deck canopy, the committee selected a ground-mounted array on the hillside between the transfer station and the road and authorized financial analysis, pending presentation to the Financial Committee, though state incentive expirations are complicating project timelines.
