Energy Committee coordinates school improvements, solar assessments, and street light projects

Energy Committee · Meeting of February 10, 2026

NORTHFIELD — Energy Committee charts energy improvements at Northfield Elementary School and explores solar and street light conversion projects. Co-chairs Judith Wagner and Jim Van Natta, along with member Spirit Joseph, oversaw a walkthrough of proposed gymnasium and heating system upgrades at the school with expeditor Kyle and engineer Jason, with priorities yet to be determined as funding may not cover all work in one grant round. FRCOG representative Tamsin Flanders outlined grant strategies and opportunities through 2027, supporting emissions reporting and technical assistance.

Solar assessments are underway for the highway department building, and street light conversion is being evaluated based on the Shelburne model.
