Finance Committee · Meeting of February 2, 2026

Northfield Finance Committee reviews FY27 school budgets as health insurance costs soar. Pioneer Valley Regional School District and Franklin County Technical School presented budget requests facing 16 to 20 percent health insurance increases. PVRSD is seeking 10 percent raises for its lowest-paid administrators, the Directors of Facilities and Technology, to aid retention, while FCTS is exploring insurance alternatives and has budgeted $1,153,893 from Northfield for 58 students, up from 50 last year.

The Committee unanimously approved an $11,000 Reserve Fund transfer to replace the Dickinson Memorial Library's deteriorating rear exterior door.
