Northfield Energy Committee plans April push on multiple fronts

Northfield Energy Committee charts path forward on three initiatives. The committee is working with an expeditor toward an April 10 Green Communities grant deadline for ventilation and classroom work at Northfield Elementary School, with partner support from FRCOG. On solar, the committee is evaluating roof or ground-mounted arrays at approximately $250,000, with assessors Matt Dodge and Joe Kenney providing competing cost estimates for the roof-reinforcement work required.
On streetlights, Co-Chairs Judy Wagner and Jim Van Natta are pursuing LED conversion options from a company vetted by Shelburne's energy committee. The committee plans to present its progress to the Select Board and is also pursuing a comprehensive building assessment for future grant cycles.
