NORTHFIELD SELECT BOARD APPOINTS ACTING FIRE CHIEF, ACCEPTS BROWN RESIGNATION

Northfield Select Board appoints Michael Quinn as Acting Fire Chief in response to a state law preventing fire chiefs from serving past age 70. The board also appointed Floyd Dunnell III as Administrative Fire Chief through August 13, 2026, and authorized notification to the state Fire Marshal. Police Chief Jon Hall announced Officer Dale Brown's resignation from full-time service; the board accepted the resignation and appointed Brown as a part-time officer effective February 14 through December 31, 2026.
The board raised the fine for placing snow on town streets from ten dollars to twenty-five dollars and approved combined warrants totaling $289,962.56.
