Recreation Commission plans funding as director vacancy opens

Northfield Recreation Commission authorizes $13,646 for summer programs as interim director takes over. Amanda Zellman, appointed to the interim Summer Program Director role at the May 26 Selectboard meeting, brings child-care experience and is pursuing an educator's degree. The commission unanimously approved $5,000 for summer entertainment and activities and $8,646.37 for equipment purchases from BSN Sports, while setting the pay grade for a permanent director at Grade 5, Step 6.
The commission also established a Field Improvement Sub-Committee, led by Chair Josh Roman and Vice Chair Bob Emberley, to enhance playing fields at Northfield Elementary School.
