Sewer board approves $8,238 bill for previously unrecorded property
Board of Sewer Commissioners · Meeting of April 8, 2026
Northfield Sewer Commission votes unanimously to bill back charges. The Board of Sewer Commissioners approved a motion to bill property at 46 Main Street $8,238.57 in sewer charges for service connected to the town system since June 1, 2016, but never properly recorded in municipal accounts. Chair Karen Boudreau and Commission members determined, on advice of Town Counsel Attorney Jeff Blake, that the town's work order to connect the property constituted a contract allowing back billing.
Chief Operator Isaac Golding confirmed the connection via dye test. The Commission identified at least one other property with similar circumstances for investigation.
