Sewer commissioners approve FY27 staffing restructure and rate adjustments

NORTHFIELD — Sewer board approves FY27 staffing restructure and rate changes. The Board of Sewer Commissioners voted to eliminate the full-time assistant chief position and add two part-time operators, reducing the budget to $602,021. Members Bernard Boudreau, Barbara Jacque, Mitch Damon, and Chair Karen Boudreau approved a wastewater rate of $1,418.50 per equivalent dwelling unit and five flat rates at $12,895 each.
The board unanimously approved a $6,000 amendment to Weston and Sampson's contract for electrical panel bidding. Senator Edward Markey's office will support up to $1 million in CDS funding for the Save the Siphon project, with Chair Boudreau coordinating the funding request.
