Northfield Approves PMA Contract for EMS Building
Select Board · Meeting of July 7, 2026
Northfield Select Board clears PMA contract for EMS building, signs $90,000 vehicle loan. The board unanimously authorized Chair Barbara Jacque to sign a final Owner's Project Manager contract with PMA after negotiating roughly $30,000 off the firm's original estimate, with a feasibility phase pegged at $32,468 ahead of a conceptual design vote at Fall Town Meeting. The board also signed a $90,000 serial state house loan note, awarded to Greenfield Cooperative Bank at 4 percent, to help finance a new EMS response vehicle, with Town Administrator Andrea Llamas explaining that "the enterprise fund... does not come out of tax dollars." Members approved an 89-acre conservation restriction off Old Wendell Road with Mount Grace Land Trust and worked through nine Finance Committee-recommended year-end transfers totaling roughly $120,000, including a $94,093.16 shift into a winter-roads account drained by salt costs.
Clerk Shane Duclos abstained from a $1,980.80 fire-equipment transfer, citing his own role as a firefighter.
