Northfield Select Board picks HKT Architects to design new EMS building, begins contract talks. The board voted unanimously to approve HKT after a joint interview session with the Emergency Services Facility Committee, with Clerk Shane Duclos noting the firm was "the only ones that really directly addressed every one of the questions" asked in advance. Members also appointed Eihmear Arlington as per diem paramedic at $33.26 an hour and approved $229,284.70 combined in payroll and vendor warrants.
The board, with Clerk Duclos abstaining on several votes, approved new Fire Department pay grades including a $200 lieutenant stipend, $400 for captain and $800 for deputy chief, and changed Michael Quinn's title from acting to interim fire chief through January 2027. The board set a tentative fall town meeting date of November 19.
