Select Board picks PMA as EMS building manager
Select Board · Meeting of June 16, 2026
Northfield Select Board unanimously ranks PMA Consultants over CMS for the EMS building project. Chair Barbara "Bee" Jacque and members Bernard Boudreau, Dan Campbell, David McCarthy and Shane Duclos, who joined by Zoom, picked PMA after back-to-back finalist interviews, citing the firm's local general-contracting experience and a schedule aimed at a fall town meeting vote. PMA pitched an average household cost of roughly $119 a year on a $2 million, 10-year bond, saying it designs "to the budget, not to the theory, the wants, the dreams." The board also approved $135,673.67 in payroll and $1,241,499.82 in vendor warrants, hired Amanda Zellman as recreation summer program director, and learned EMS Operations Captain Tim Drumgool is resigning to lead South County EMS after fielding more than 500 calls for service since January.
A resident's complaint about aggressive Eversource tree-trimming prompted the board to schedule a follow-up with the utility.
